From Cancer to Coaching: By a Cancer Personal Trainer & Nutritionist in Bristol

When my mum was diagnosed with cancer, our world shifted overnight. Just a few months later, I received my own diagnosis. We were both thrown into treatment, fear, fatigue — and a kind of resilience you don’t know you have until you need it.

This month, I had the honour of sharing that story live on BBC Radio Bristol with host Joe Lemer, sitting beside my mum to reflect on what we’d been through — and what we’ve built since.

A Story of Two Diagnoses — and One Turning Point

Navigating treatment together was one of the hardest things we’ve ever done. But it was also strangely empowering. We kept each other going through chemo, hospital appointments, hair loss, fatigue and all the quiet griefs in between.

And as we came out the other side, I knew I wanted to do more than just “move on.” I wanted to help others do the same — to feel strong again, confident again, like themselves again.

That’s why I upskilled and built my business as a cancer personal trainer and cancer nutritionist in Bristol. I knew firsthand what was missing during recovery: clear, kind, qualified guidance from someone who gets it. So I became that person.

What I Do Now-I'm a Cancer Personal Trainer & Nutritionist in Bristol

I now support people across the UK and in Bristol who are navigating life after cancer — whether they’re feeling lost post-treatment, trying to rebuild strength, or struggling with fatigue, weight gain, or loss of appetite.

As a registered nutritionist and Level 3 personal trainer specialising in cancer rehabilitation, I offer:

  • 1:1 tailored fitness programmes (in-person or online)

  • Nutritional support for energy, weight, muscle loss, and post-treatment recovery

  • Practical advice on everything from diet to fatigue

  • Emotional understanding — because healing isn’t just physical

Why This Matters

Cancer rehabilitation is still too often overlooked. People are told to “get back to normal,” but what even is normal after cancer? Your body may not feel like your own. Food tastes different. You’re tired all the time. And no one tells you how to exercise safely or eat well in this new body. That’s where I come in. Whether you’re freshly out of treatment or years down the line, you deserve support that’s expert, evidence-based, and deeply compassionate.
